We got in! Australia here we come!
We found out on Wednesday that we have been accepted as permanent residents of Australia! We have to get our visa endorsed at an embassy, then we can enter and activate our visa. Hopefuuly we can get that done in Tokyo. We can stay forever, or we have to stay for 2 years in each 5 to retain our residency status, and we can apply for citizenship after staying there for 4 years.
We can’t believe that it’s finally come through, we’re so excited.

Yeah, that’d be lovely! We’re back on the 15th Dec and have no return plans yet, so will have plenty of time to meet up (Andre is having curry withdrawl!)ćć

We got our visa pasted into our passport in Tokyo in 5 minutes, it was so much easier than we were expecting. But we found out to migrate properly we have to wait until January as you have to apply for tax numbers, medicare, centrelink, back accounts and driving test as soon as you arrive. So we’re looking forward to SE Asia until we come home for Christmas, then another adventure starts.
